An unusual gin from the Black Forest in Germany, Monkey 47 contains a unique ingredient..Cranberries! The 47 comes from the number of botanicals that go into this unique gin, and the fact it's bottled at a healthy 47%. This plethora of ingredients has paid off, and in 2011 Monkey 47 won the World Spirits Award Gold in the Gin category and Gold for best in class for the Gin Worldwide at the International Wine and Spirits Competition. Not bad!
A gin crafted with the 'Aviation" in mind. Great with tonic and a dash of orange bitters. Aviation belongs to an entirely new category of dry gins. These gins embody a shift away from the usual overabundance of juniper toward a more forward balance of botanicals. Aviation explores the rich, floral and savory notes of lavender, cardamom, and sarsaparilla to capture the lushness, spice, creativity, and freshness of the Pacific Northwest.
After years working in the drinks industry, three guys struck out on their own to pursue their passion for beautifully handmade spirits. They call themselves "sip-smiths" to celebrate the craft of distillation and artisanal methods. This gin produced on the first handmade copper-pot still in London in 189 years. The still has the charming name of 'Prudence'.
The extraordinary (all-natural) colour of Boudier's Saffron gin is all from the gin's signature ingredient - the most expensive spice in the world.
An extraordinary award-winning gin, produced by the enigmatic Professor Cornelius Ampleforth. Made using the traditional method of Cold Compounding (or in layman's terms – infusing). Very high quality copper pot-still spirit is infused with ingredients including Juniper, Orange Peel, Coriander, Cinnamon, Cloves and Cardamom. This gin is made in ultra-small batches of only 30-60 bottles at a time, and the length of the compounding period is controlled entirely by periodic sampling. The result is an extraordinary gin, lightly tinted by the botanicals, and with a flavour which is both bold, and perfumed all at once. Sure to be a hit with amateur and professional mixologists alike. Packaged using brown paper, string and wax, the presentation puts us in mind of a Victorian apothecary!
Mare is a Mediterranean gin flavoured with four principal botanicals: basil, thyme, rosemary and, most unusual of all, the Arbequina olive. Alongside juniper, cardamom and citrus, these different botanicals create a strangely arresting gin: you'll know when you've had a Mare.
Very fresh and smooth on the nose with slight hints of juniper and citrus coming through. A good hit of liquorice is present on the palate, with a slight spice that creates a long tingle.
A slight pepper, yet very light and floral mix on the nose, with a hint of harshness on the palate that evolvesinto a bold mix of juniper and citrus. Very smooth on the aftertaste though.
